The International Federation of Basque Pelota is the International Olympic Committee-recognized global governing body for Basque pelota. It establishes the rules for international competition and arranges competitions. On May 19, 1929, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the French Federation of Basque Pelota, the Spanish Federation of Basque Pelota, and the Argentinian Federation of Basque Pelota formed the International Federation of Basque Pelota.
The International Handball Federation (IHF) is the governing body for handball and beach handball. The IHF is in charge of organising handball's biggest international tournaments, most notably the IHF World Men's Handball Championship, which began in 1938, and the IHF World Women's Handball Championship, which began in 1957.

The International Basketball Federation is a group of national organisations that administers basketball around the world. The Fédération internationale de basket-ball amateur (hereafter FIBA) eliminated the adjective amateur from its name in 1989 but kept the abbreviation.
